Ian: Yeah sure you'll get a salad but you'll shame eat three burgers in the car on the way back

Well today is it. The 100th song of the day. Keeping with the simple rules that I made for myself at the onset of this project I am going to pick a song that I am in the mood for and try not to over think it too much.

Since my good friend Derek enlightened me to "fight for your right revisited" http://bit.ly/esPFWH that mood has fallen directly on the beastie boys. Simple I'll just pick my favorite Bboys song and away we go. Except it's not that simple.

There are way too many amazing tracks from these guys. I'm not even talking about the hits. My fave Bboys songs have always been non single tracks from deep in the album. For instance "Hello Nasty" which sported the super famous track "Intergalactic" held a much more personal song for me. I always viewed "Song for Junour" as one of the best tracks of that album. I have always liked their laid back seventies lounge jazz style songs better than the hits.

The dilemma of picking one song is far to great so for my song of the day I am going to break my own rules. I'm going to pick two songs.

One is the first song that I heard that made me fall in love with the retro jazz sound when I was a mere 15. More specifically the Jazz Flute. That song is "Flute Loops: off of "Ill Communication".

I came to own the "Ill Communication" album in a round about way.

My friend stole it and then got scared his mom would find it. Since his mom apparently payed more attention to his possessions than my mom did to mine, he decided I could keep it and he could then borrow it from me. Ergo getting around the suspicion of his mom for him acquiring new possessions with money not under her control. His mom was crazy scared he would steal or do drugs. She had a right to that fear because later in life at about the age of 25 he was rumored to have stolen from a drug dealer and run out of the tiny town I grew up in.

The happy ending to the story is that I kept Ill Communication and listened to it until the cassette tape wore out.

The second of the two songs of the day is off of another album released that same year, 1994. "Beastie Revolution" is off of "Some Old Bullshit". The album is a basic catalog of the bands early experimenting with which sound they would like the band to have. There are songs that range from hard core punk to this psychedelic experimentation in club music.

Now I never acquired "Some Old Bullshit" nearly as teenage rebelously as i did "Ill Communication" so the story of me being exposed to is anti climactic. Hindsight I should have probably told you about this story first that way there would still be a climb in excitement. This is most likely why I am not a professional writer.

Boring story even more boring I borrowed this album from a friend and listened to it. Honestly some of the songs are terrible and hard to get through. It's all worth it for "Beastie revolution" and "cookie Puss" you should at least buy those two tracks.

April 21 is not a particularly awesome day in any real respect. It will be. It will mark the 100 installment of my song of the day list. On January 15th I decided to start picking 1 song for every day. There were no parameters for the list it would be more of what ever song I was in the mood to listen to most that day. Then at the end of the giant list I would have a disjointed roadmap of what I had been feeling for a whole year. Just the roads on said map there would be corners disjointedness and sometimes maybe a bit of fluidity but there would be no mistaking a journey took place. Harper shows his form by dancing in the middle of the ring squaring against all three other candidates at once

Ignatief Leans in for a close range uppercut bringing up the budget and jet spending

Harper is showing some athleticism out there dancing with his taxes create jobs steps

The ref steps in to seperate them all because they all erupt at once

Duceppe hits harper with a sloppy french accented left jab in the jaw with price on the jets

DAMN Layton Explodes from the hip lands a bomb on Harper "You better go check your press releases"

Ignatieff is reading Laytons moves with the Afghanistan soldier topic and lands a one two jab straight combination

AND Layton calls on BC and the HST and finds the jaw of Ignatieff

Layton is throwing wildly a fury but they are all blocked by the big gloves of Ignatieff

OH SNAP Ignatieff has harper in the corner Lands a bomb with the g20 spending

Harper throws a few off his heals Backs Ignatieff off with the Recession coming to us arguments

Layton sucker punch from the side when Harper is focused on Ignatieff

Ignatieff HUUUUUGE over hand right "we are having an election because you didn't tell the truth"

Harper is dazed still got his gloves up He's hurting after that Ignatieff bomb

Nobody saw that combo coming as duceppe leans in and lands a flurry "Ow come now you cand remember what your stants was"

Harper shows he's not to be trifled with lands a few on everyone with fancy foot work and quick jabs

Ref steps in gives everyone a standing "20 seconds to reply" count

Harper and Ignatieff lock up for some one on one

Ignatieff has been waiting for this moment steps into harper with large spending and his shut down of parliament twice

Harper better get his gloves up if he doesn't want to keep taking hard shots to the head

OH SHIT THE FACE BOOK page Ignatieff is coming in strong Harper might not have trained enough for this fight

Harper lands a few light defensive blows bringing up the need for majority government

"you've shut down parliament twice" Ignatieff is reusing his moves he better be careful that harper doesn't read his moves

The one on one did not fair well for Harper he's been hit hard by body blows and his legs look tired

Duceppe the obvious underdog is really showing his teeth here going after the hurt Harper

Finally Harper gets a rest as Layton turns on Ignatieff Sneaks in a body shot "Your party is not the only alternative"

OH LOW BLOW from Layton "if it wasn't for harper supporting you i would have to lend you my crutch"

Layton Comes at Ignatieff hard with the "You have the worst attendance in parliament" straight left

Even though Duceppe seems to be struggling he lands a few home with the call for more attention to immigration integration

Layton and Duceppe seem to be mixing it up over French in quebec and bill 101

It looks like the place has slowed down as the Debaters are looking to quick jabs in favour of power shots

It's a hush toned body jab from Harper on Ignatieff about family immigration

Harper is showing his strength at the slow quiet game as he slows down the match with some sidesteps

It's turning into a stamina game now as they are still feeling eachother out about immigration

Layton posturing about a ten year waitlist for immigrants inviting the other parties to help him fix it

Ignatieff with a nice rope a dope on Layton from violence against women to gun control

Duceppe's shots a few but everyone is sharp and aimed at the body

in closing thoughts Ignatieff was the clear winner of the debate

Harper even though he slowed it down at the end it was too late he had too many bombs dropped on him

Even though layton had some strong points he had too many cheap shots to be respectable

Duceppe had a really nice suit
